Mastodon's formed in late 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia. Its members include Troy Sanders on bass, Brent Hinds on guitar, Bill Kelliher on guitar and Brann Dailor drums. Everybody but Kelliher also sings. As you can see, they eschw the old metal standby of thrashing about and screaming a lot. Their song style is very unique to the genre, almost like Queens of the Stone Age but, you know, with balls. Curl of the Burl is off of their latest album The Hunter which debuted at Number 10 on The Billboard 200 chart. Their other albums were, in order of release: Remission, Leviathan, Blood Mountain, Crack the Skye, and Live at the Aragon
